School closed

Warracknabeal Secondary College will be closed tomorrow after the Department of Health and Human Services alerted the school of a COVID-19 case.

Principal Therese Allen said in a letter to parents all students were to stay at home until further notice.

The case is the second in Yarriambiack Shire and the first since the current Victorian outbreak.

Horsham reported one new case in latest DHHS announcements with one case removed from the active list.

Dear parents, carers and students,

Our school has been advised of a reported case of coronavirus (COVID-19).

This case has been reported to the Department of Education and Training (DET), and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is currently undertaking further investigation.

As a precautionary measure, Warracknabeal Secondary College will be closed for 24 hours tomorrow, Tuesday 28th July 2020, while we await further advice. The school will be closed to all students, staff and members of the community.

All students are asked to stay at home until further advice is provided.

Our scheduled Year 10-12 Parent teacher interviews will still be happening tomorrow. These interviews will be conducted by phone as originally planned.

We will provide further information following confirmation of advice from DHHS.
