The State government has again changed venue limits for local sport
At this point the Wimmera football netball league are going ahead with round 9 - even though the state government has again made changes to rules that were in place for the weekend just been.
The adjustments in fact came in over the weekend with 150 spectators previously allowed which included players, umpires, coaches, officials and a handful of spectators..the changes now mean NO spectators are allowed at all.
Its hoped there will be an announcement from the government tomorrow or Thursday in regards to restrictions being eased further in regional Victoria and also Melbourne for that matter as unless there are changes made in the next few days - no one can watch a game.
The Wimmera league held an emergency meeting Monday to discuss their next move regarding the altered rules.
Chairperson of the Wimmera football netball league Pauline Butler says minimum patrons are only allowed now and no spectators at all
"The only people allowed to attend the local footy this weekend are players, officials and one parent of children under 18 as the state government has made changes to their 150 spectator limit per venue"
The changes to AFL Victoria return-to-training-and-games protocols based on State Government restrictions forwarded to leagues on Saturday moved venue-capacity limitations.
They instead included a ban on all patrons except the minimum number of officials to run games and parents and guardians of junior competitors.
