Arnna Pickering and Member for Lowan Emma Kealy are reaching out to local mask makers
Seeing an elderly man battling in the supermarket and looking stressed over the weekend and without a mask prompted Local businesswoman Arnna Pickering to push for more help for those in need in our community during the COVID pandemic.
MS Pickering went onto her Facebook and asked mask makers and anyone that could donate money for masks to help out and was overwhelmed by the response.
Member for Lowan Emma Kealy also joined the campaign and through her Facebook page on Sunday, Ms Kealy called for anyone who could make masks or donate them to reach out, with the aim of building a stock of masks that could be posted to residents in need in both the local area but in rural settings too.
MS Kealy said The generosity of our communities is absolutely incredible, with many offers of support already coming in,” Ms Kealy said.
MS Pickering has urged locals to reach out if they need help during this time also.....and has reminded them to not go it alone if they are feeling down and to make sure they get in touch with a friend, a neighbour or even herself.
